How could I not choose this lovely photo as my photo this Sunday?! My beloved grandmother and me, at the party celebrating her 100th birthday. Her birthday is actually today, but obviously parties are better celebrated on Saturdays. And celebrate we did. My grandmother, who we call ‘Mere’, is a truly special and loving person. I spent a lot of time with her as a child. And then she lived with us when I was 10, until I was almost 14. She often refers to me as her ‘last child’.
Tonight I fly back to the UK but I am so happy that I had the chance to be with my family in Florida. One hundred years of living is such a milestone. And we are lucky that we have such a wonderful matriarch.
