Monthly Monday Melfie – October 2015

Monthly Monday Melfie

October really creeped up on me this month. September was so busy. And I didn’t take many selfies. So I thought I would share a photo of Moozles and me from The London Eye yesterday.

I want to thank everyone who has taken part in this linky in the past year. I started this linky to encourage myself, and others, to get in photos with your children. But this will be the last month for Monthly Monday Melfie. I just don’t have the time anymore. But I hope to see you all join in on Twitter and Instagram. Maybe on a Monday? Please keep taking those selfies.

Let’s see how you are getting in the picture. It can be a selfie on your phone, using a selfie stick or setting the timer on your camera or phone. As long as your camera roll has photos of you lovely parents with your lovely children. Grab the badge below, link up and tweet up. If you tag me into your tweet (@CalifornianMum), I will re-tweet you. #monthlymondaymelfie

Monthly Monday Melfie – September 2015

monthly monday melfie september 2015Look, it’s me and my girl on her first day of Year Three. I have no make-up on, apart from some old, crusty lipstick. I have a spot/zit over my upper lip that looks like a sexy mole (but not sexy because we know what it is). But it doesn’t matter as I have a lovely memory of Moozles’ first day of school (besides the normal photos of her on her own).

I haven’t take many selfies this past month. But I did take some on my birthday. I didn’t ask for much, but I did want a trip to the local lavender fields to take some family photos. Here we are acting very silly:

I’ve shown you mine, so come on and show me yours. I love seeing your beautiful parent-selfies. I began the Monthly Monday Melfie linky to help remind myself to take photos of myself WITH my kids, not just OF them. And it has really helped. I hope you will join in/continue to join in. You can write as little or as much as you want. This month’s linky opens at midnight on the 7th September and closes at 10pm on the 8th September.

Monthly Monday Melfie – August 2015

Monthly Monday Melfie August

July has been a month of two halves. Dubz had another asthma attack and we stayed in the hospital for a couple of days. Moozles finished Year Two (sniff, sniff). Plus we had our first family camping trip. The photo above is from when Moozles and I had a mummy-daughter day at the Emirates Air Line. We were lucky to have such sunny weather and the beautiful backdrop of The O2. The selfies below are from our camping trip, plus I threw in a photo from our visit to Ripley’s London.

I’m excited that it’s now August. Besides being happy about the school holidays and having some time with my kiddies, this August is kind of a big deal. In a couple of weeks I leave my 30s behind. Expect lots of birthday selfies for next month’s linky. How was your July? Do you have anything special happening in August?

Monthly Monday Melfie AugustI’ve shown you mine, so come on and show me yours. You have been sharing some gorgeous parent-selfies these past few months. Monthly Monday Melfie – July 2015

Monthly Monday Melfie

I love this photo. Moozles and I were on the Treetop Walkway at Kew Gardens last weekend. I grabbed her for a quick selfie, and she’s smiling so hard that her eyes are squeezed shut. Aww, look at her little face. We had such a fun day. Moozles has had a lot of behavioural issues the past few months. Too much rudeness and teenage sassiness for a seven year-old. But this month she has started to act like her old self, and we are having fun together again.

I have shown you mine, so come on and show me yours. You have been sharing some fab parent-selfies these past few months. And we had some gorgeous ones last month. I started the Monthly Monday Melfie linky to help remind myself to take photos of myself with my kids. And it has really helped. I hope you will join in/continue to join in. Monthly Monday Melfie – June 2015

Monthly Monday Melfie June 2015

I know that every month I am astounded that the previous month has finished. But here we are again, and I am shocked that it is June. June! We are almost halfway through the year. And June will be the last full month of school and pre-school. May has been a great month and I have taken more selfies than usual. Perhaps it is the good weather we have had.

Despite the sunny weather, this month I’m doing a car-selfie theme. The top photo was taken on our way to Wychwood Festival on Saturday morning. We were pretty pumped up, despite the 2 1/2 hour drive. The other photos are just random silly photos in the car. For some reason, my kids love it when I take pics of us in the car.

Monthly Monday Melfie – May

monthly monday melfie

What? How on earth is it May already??!! I’ve had a lovely holiday in Florida but I will be flying home tonight. So I’m posting a bit early. I thought I would share this mummy selfie from a few weeks ago, when my boy and I were resting on the sofa, and my girl decided to join in the fun. I can’t wait to get home to see these two rascals.

I hope you have been putting yourselves in the picture and taking selfies with your kids. It can be a selfie on your phone, using a selfie stick or setting the timer on your camera or phone. Monthly Monday Melfie – April 2015

Monthly Monday Melfie

I cannot believe it is April already. I have been waiting for this month for ages. April is a special month in our household – my daughter’s birthday (and party), my wedding anniversary and I’m going on holiday. Just me. Without the kids or Husband. I’m going to see my family to celebrate my grandmother’s 100th birthday.

But March has been mostly good, as you can see from our stellar car dancing. Sometimes when I take Moozles to school, and there is a good song on the radio, the kids ask for a dance. So we boogie. And they ask that I take pics of us. So I do. And I’m sure that the parents that walk by think we’re crazy. But hey, we kinda are. But these pics make me smile.

Monthly Monday Melfie Monthly Monday Melfie

I began the Monthly Monday Melfie linky to get parents back in the picture. Even with this linky, I find myself in very few photos with my children. But I am working on this. Every month I try to take more photos WITH the children, not just of them.

Now, it’s your turn. Last month you shared so many of your fab parent-selfies with me. Let’s see how you are getting in the picture. It can be a selfie on your phone, using a selfie stick or setting the timer on your camera or phone. As long as your camera roll has photos of you lovely parents with your lovely children. Monthly Monday Melfie – March 2015

Monthly Monday Melfie

Happy March and Happy Spring dear readers. Welcome to another edition of Monthly Monday Melfie. For those of you not familiar with this linky, it is a chance to get mums taking photos with their children, not just of their children. So join me and get mums back in the picture. So many of you joined in last month, and it was such a treat seeing your Mummy-Child selfies (melfies).

I hadn’t originally planned to use the above photo. I took this photo today, and as you can see it is so bright that we’re all squinting and making funny faces. But I really like it as it makes me feel like sunny weather is finally upon us. Spring is upon us.

Monthly Monday Melfie

I had planned to use the above photo, as it was the first selfie that Dubz took. I had to rotate the photo as it was upside down, but other than that it was all Dubz. We were playing under the covers of my bed last week, hiding from ‘the big, daddy dino-roar’. Don’t worry, we are so good at hiding that he never caught us. 😉

Now it’s your turn. Show me, show me, show me, your Mummy-Child selfies. Grab the badge below, link up then tweet up. I re-tweet everyone who tags me (@CalifornianMum) into their post. #monthlymondaymelfie

Monthly Monday Melfie – February 2015

Monthly Monday Melfie

Welcome to another edition of Monthly Monday Melfie. The linky that reminds you that your camera roll shouldn’t only be filled with pics of your children and your food. Hope you’ve been turning your mobiles around and taking pics of you and your children.

This month I actually managed to get a photo of both of the kids and me, and we’re all smiling and not making our usual funny faces. Here we are at RHS Wisley last week after visiting the butterflies. I had asked Husband to take a photo of us, but the man cannot take a clear, unblurry photo to save his life. So I had to take matters into my hands. Literally.

I hope you can join in with your mummy-child selfies. You can write as much or as little as you would like. Just be a bit spontaneous and take a pic of you and your little one(s). Who cares if it’s a bit blurry or if you agonise over your double chin. Then grab the badge, link up and tweet up. I re-tweet everyone who tags me (@CalifornianMum) into the tweet. #monthlymondaymelfie

Monthly Monday Melfie – January 2015

IMG_8613.JPG

Happy New Year folks. I thought I’d begin the year as I mean to continue and end it. Being silly. Husband kindly gave me a couple of hours peace on Saturday morning. He watched his children while I went shopping in Kingston (I say shopping but I didn’t buy one single item). Then I met up with him and the kids for lunch at Pizza Express. At one point, Dubz and his dinosaur took a break from their pizza to come sit on my lap. Then we started taking selfies. Then Moozles wanted to join in on the action. So here we are pretending the plastic green dinosaur was about to eat us.

Thank you to everyone who has joined in on the Monthly Monday Melfies. This is the first one of 2015, and only the third one ever. I love seeing how you other mums are getting yourselves in your family photos. Maybe some festive selfies? Hopefully your camera rolls aren’t just kids and food anymore. So, show me what you got! Then link up and tweet up. #monthlymondaymelfie
