Summer is upon us. It has been so warm this past week, at least it has been in London and Surrey. I've finally packed away my winter coat and plan to wear summer dresses as much as I can. A few days ago I popped into the Woking Shopping Centre to purchase a new summer outfit for our holiday in France.
First stop was Debenhams. I love having a range of shops to choose from and Debenhams has some of my favourite brands, including Oasis and Warehouse. This brightly coloured midi dress is from the latter. Normally I choose looser dresses, but this dress was so pretty that I thought I'd be brave and get it. I'm so glad that I did. Yes, I have curves. At 41, I am finally not so embarrassed at my shape. I've teamed it with a cardi, as well as a t-shirt, making it perfect for those cooler summer days.
Woking also has a Primark. It is so hard to resist going in. And I was so pleased to find this fab summer hat for only £6 and new capri leggings for £2.50. The hat is big and beautiful. What's not to like?! I wear leggings all year long and I find that Primark leggings are remarkably well made. Another place that is great for bargains is TK Maxx. There I found new sunglasses and new sandals.
While I love comfy sandals, I like them to look pretty too. This Teva sandals are not pretty. But for once I will be on holiday and not have any blisters. I have become so practical. I have also recently learnt that cheap sunglasses are not good for protecting your eyes. So I bought some discounted Storm sunglasses which seem to offer the maximum UVA/UVB protection.
I love this summer outfit. Perfect for holidays, but can also be worn at home. I had never been to the Woking Shopping Centre before, and was quite pleased with their selection of shops. Although there is parking at the centre, I took the train (the train station is less than five minutes' walk away). You can catch a direct train from Wimbledon or Surbiton, if you're in south west London - just remember to buy a ticket as it's not covered on Oyster. Woking will be offering loads of events this half-term, including Fashion Unboxed which is dance performances from models who will be bringing fashion to life (26-28 May).
I was invited to shop at the Woking Shopping Centre for the purpose of this review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
