We love eating out as a family. But it can be pricey, especially if your kids eat as much as mine. But this half-term we went out for dinner to Jamie’s Italian in Kingston upon Thames. We wanted to enjoy Jamie’s half-term promotion that lets kids eat for free.
If you’ve never been to Jamie’s Italian (yesterday was our first time), there is plenty of pasta on offer, as well as some familiar Italian mains. I had the spicy prawn linguine which was absolutely delicious. Jamie’s also offers burgers and some really healthy and interesting-sounding salads.
The kids meals, which are priced quite reasonably at under £7, include a main, pudding, drink and a shake-me salad. But obviously the kids’ meals are free during half-term. Moozles loved her mini burgers (though she didn’t feel like she had enough food). We made the mistake of going right before a show began at the Rose Theatre so the restaurant was packed and the service was a bit on the slow side.
Our favourite part of our meal was dessert. The kids each had chocolate ice cream (they always have to have the same pudding). Husband and I shared the brownie with ice cream and caramelised popcorn (photo above). It was beyond yummy, and we wished we had gotten our own. Doesn’t it look delicious? Hmmmm, brownie.
We were invited for a meal at Jamie’s for the purpose of this review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
I grew up in Kingston and should really go back to visit at some point – this might be just the excuse I need! x
I didn’t realise you grew up around here. There is so much to see and so, and so many restaurants to choose from. x
