There are still a few weeks left of the summer holidays. So there is still time to get to London for a whole host of fun family attractions and activities. I thought I’d share my three favourites that you should try and see this month.
Carsten Holler at the Hayward Gallery
Husband and I left the kids with their grandparents two weeks ago and had a day at London’s South Bank. We visit the Hayward Gallery once or twice a year, on our own, and really enjoy getting some culture without worrying about our children destroying priceless works of art.
The Carsten Holler exhibit is based on decisions. There’s darkness, red and white pills and a slide, amongst other things. Yes, it’s mysterious, but it’s better to be a bit surprised. Just go visit.
The Carsten Holler exhibit is on at the Haward Gallery until the 6th September. Tickets cost £13.50 per person.
Hetty Feather Live
Jacqueline Wilson fans might be familiar with her book Hetty Feather and its two sequels. It is the story of an orphan growing up in Victorian London. The show was outstanding. Great music and fab acrobatics. I cannot express how my seven-year old, Moozles, and I enjoyed it.
We were also very lucky that the amazing Jacqueline Wilson was at the same show as us and kindly waited in the bar and signed books and programmes for everyone.
Hetty Feather is playing at the Duke of York theatre until the 6th September. If you can’t catch it in London, then try and get tickets as it tours around the UK. Don’t miss it!
Emirates Air Line
I have been meaning to take the kids to ride the cable cars for ages, but there is always so much to do in London. So when Moozles and I were invited to ride on the Emirates Air Line for a family challenge with K’NEX, I was excited to check it out.
Moozles loved riding the cable car, and we went on two round trips. There were wonderful views of London and it was so quiet and serene. If you fancy a ride, adult singles start at £3.40 and children’s singles start at £1.70.
We were invited to view Hetty Feather Live but a review was not required (I just really loved it). We were invited to ride the Emirates Air Line for the purpose of this review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
What great things you did in the Capital and lovely photos to remember it all by too. I love your matching hair cuts, they suit you both
I thought the Emirates cable cars would be much more expensive but they’re so reasonably priced. My friend has recommended going on them too!
I’d love to do the cable car 🙂 I do love spending time in London x
Wow brilliant days out and looks like you have had real fun. Must visit there soon 🙂 Jess xx
What fab adventures you’ve been having! It makes me want to brave a trip to the capital with my two x
Come soon (and visit me!!). x
