Mummy-Daddy-Daughter Day

Mummy-Daddy-Daughter Day

Friday was Inset Day for Moozles, who is halfway through Year Three. We wanted to give her a treat as she has memorised more than than half of her times table. Moozles recently had her report from school, and for the first time it wasn’t glowing. Although she is doing reasonably well, she has been having trouble concentrating, not wanting to do her homework and experiencing some issues with some of the alpha females in the class.

Husband and I realised last month that Moozles is having issues with her hearing (one of her grommets has fallen out), and as she sits at the back of the class, she has been having trouble hearing her teacher. And rather than telling anyone, she has been gazing off into space. Obviously we had to coax this information out of her. The other issue has been her friendships. Moozles has never had a best friend. She has friends, but never one person she always plays with. Her frustrations have been spilling over into home life and she is filled with aggression. She is so different to the little girl she once was.

But we wanted to treat Moozles for the things she was accomplishing. We wanted her to feel that we were proud of her, as long as she tries her best. So Husband took Dubz to pre-school on Friday, and we had a day of Moozles’ choosing. We went bowling and then for lunch at Yo Sushi. Afterwards, we rushed off to pick Dubz from pre-school, went back into Kingston town centre for waffles and ice cream at Wafflemeister. Hopefully things will improve with Moozles and she will be back to herself soon.

  1. Oh bless her, I have no doubt I have all this to come, all the dramas with school. Growing up can be so hard sometimes. It sounds like you are wonderful parents, I am sure she treasured going out with you both on her own. Hope everything sorts itself out soon. xx
