Everyone is familiar with my love of tea. I drink many cups a day, and drink a variety of teas. So, when I found out that there is a National Tea Day, I was ecstatic. An entire day devoted to tea. Surely that means that I can drink more tea than usual?! This week, Whittard invited me to a tea tasting at their shop in Kingston upon Thames, so that I would be prepared for National Tea Day.
If you're not familiar with Whittard, they have been around since 1886. And to this day, they are passionate about sourcing the best tea from all over the world. I was able to sample some of their amazing teas. As a fan of Earl Grey, I was thrilled that they had several varieties, with my favourite being the Afternoon blend. It was so delicious, and I could have drunk it all afternoon.
Another tea that I tried was the Cranberry & Raspberry tea. You could brew it to drink hot or cold. When cold, it is just like drinking iced tea. Very refreshing. Although I did not try the Matcha powdered green tea, I found out that it is just as strong as coffee. This is great news for us tea drinkers who need a little extra pick-me-up. I could have really used the Matcha when my children were babies and keeping me up all night.
Whatever tea you drink, you can get it in a bag or loose, it is up to you. No tea snobs here. Just drink good tea. Thank you to Whittard at the Bentalls Centre for an interesting morning learning about tea, and of course getting to drink a few different types. And happy National Tea Day. Hope your day is full of tea (and biscuits).
I was invited to a tea tasting and given a goody bag for the purpose of this post. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
