I love going to new parks. This makes me a bit sad and pathetic, I know. But it’s so fun finding a new place to run and play. It’s even better when there isn’t a playground so the kids are forced to explore rather than slide down the millionth slide. So today we decided to visit Nonsuch Park in Cheam.
Apparently, Henry VIII had a small village demolished to build Nonsuch Park and the original mansion, as ‘none such place like it’. Nonsuch is 250 acres of loveliness. We walked, climbed trees, picked wildflowers, explained that we can’t pick flowers from the ornamental gardens and had a picnic.
Have you been to any new parks this summer? I need to find another new one to visit in South West London or Surrey. Let me know if you have any good suggestions.
I’m linking up to Ordinary Moments from Mummy Daddy ME, which this week is being hosted by What The Redhead Said.
This park is not far from where I used to live, although I don’t think I’d ever been there. I agree, I love finding new parks, it is nice to have somewhere new to explore. You’ve probably done Richmond Park? I love the gardens in there.
Where do you now live? We go to Richmond Park loads as it is only 5 minutes from our house. But it makes a nice change going somewhere new.
We live in Wales now – just outside Cardiff!
Ah, I thought you were in Wales. 🙂

I love finding new parks as well! I get local park-malaise! Gorgeous photos, love xx #ordinarymoments
Looks like a great park. I live in a small town so am very bored with the 5 or so parks near me! I should really try to find some new ones! #OrdinaryMoments
Oh this looks so lovely and a great day too. Were up in Yorkshire so my suggestions wouldn’t be helpful, but I so much love sunny days in beautiful spots like this. #ordinarymoments x

What a gorgeous place, love her sunglasses! So cute 🙂 x
It’s not pathetic, it’s one of our favourite things to do as well! We love finding new parks to explore. This looks beautiful. x
Hmmm I think I’ve heard of this in history books but never visited! It looks lovely and your photos are wonderful.

I loved Nonsuch park as a child. It was one of our favourite places to visit. You can’t beach Bushy Park or Richmond Park although we used to enjoy Morden Hall Park too. Or a ramble on Wimbledon Common hunting for Wombles! Virginia Water too – that’s our current fave as just down the road from us x
We’ve never been to Morden Hall Park. Do you have to be a NT member to go in?
