Remember in the 1970s/1980s when families would get their photos taken in a studio, perhaps with everyone in a matching outfit? Well, gone are those days. Thankfully. Nowadays, people want natural photos of their families. And what’s more, we don’t want to pay £200 for a two-hour session and then another £200 on top on that for photos. And that’s where Splento comes in.
Splento refer to themselves as ‘Uber for photographers’, and it is easy to see why. If you go to their website, all you need to do is enter the date and time that you would like for your photo shoot, and your post code. After consulting my husband’s family for a date and time, I chose Cannizaro Park in Wimbledon as our location. It is a beautiful park that is easy to walk around, and there are lots of lovely spots seemingly made for Instagram.
Our photographer, Bogdan Maran, was prompt, professional and friendly. He managed to put everyone at ease (six adults and three children). When my niece was feeling a bit nervous, he got his Polaroid camera out and all three kids enjoyed posing and then getting to see their photos (after some of that traditional Polaroid picture shaking). We got a great mixture of natural and posed photographs on the day. I am annoyed with myself that I didn’t get any photos of just me with Husband and our two children. In the future, I will note what photos I want to be taken.
Besides the easy booking, Splento is so affordable. For £98, you receive a two-hour photo shoot and 40 photos which you can then download. And did I mention that the professionally edited photos are emailed to you in just 48 hours from the photo shoot?! Splento also offer services for events and businesses so you know they are using professional photographers.
If you are thinking about getting some family photos taken, and you live in London, you really should try Splento. I have a discount code for my lovely readers which will give you 10% off your booking: camum10. And since you don’t have to wait weeks to receive the edited photos, you can book a session in November and still have time to use photos as Christmas cards and gifts.
We were given a family photo shoot for the purpose of this review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
