London in 10 Hours

Seeing Sites in London

On Sunday we packed a weekend’s worth of activities into one day. And though we were exhausted by the end of the day, we managed loads of fun activities. If you only have 10 hours to spend in London, then this would be terrific day (with or without your family).

Breakfast: It’s the most important meal of the day, doncha know?! While Dubz and Husband had the breakfast baps, Moozles and I ate yummy pancakes with bacon. It can be tough to find fluffy American pancakes in the UK, and Garfunkel’s served some delicious pancakes.

Morning: I went to Madame Tussauds once as a teenager, when I visited London with my dad. It has changed a lot in 25 years. And besides the celebrity waxworks, they now have a section dedicated to Star Wars and Superheroes. Dubz is obsessed with Star Wars, so he was beyond happy. Moozles’ favourite part was the 4D Marvel Superheroes film. These were my two favourites as well.

Lunch: More yumminess at Garfunkel’s. There is a children’s meal deal (on offer for lunch and dinner). One main course, plus dessert and a drink for only £6.95. The meals come with a choice of vegetables, chips or the salad bar. It is so tiresome going out for a meal and you have to pay extra for your children to eat vegetables.

Afternoon: Open-top bus ride around London with The Original Tour. e have been meaning to do this for ages and just haven’t gotten around to it. We all loved the bus tour and it was Husband’s favourite part of the day. It is lovely to see the sites, whilst relaxing after a busy day. My three-year old, Dubz, was pretty tired after this (around 4.30pm), so Husband took him home. Then Moozles and I continued with our group of bloggers to the London Eye. I have been on the Eye several times, but it was Moozles’ first time. She enjoyed being up high and seeing the gorgeous views of London. And we were quite lucky to have had such a sunny day.

Dinner: From the Southbank, we made our way to another Garfunkel’s (there are 13 in London). Moozles was excited to go back to the salad bar. I was excited to be drinking Prosecco and wine (not at the same time, obvs). Moozles and I shared fish and chips, so that we would have enough room to have dessert. My girl and I have our priorities in order! After dinner we walked along Waterloo Bridge before taking the train home. The London sites look so magical at night.

I just want to say thank you to Garfunkel’s for planning such a fab day in London. I had never eaten at a Garfunkel’s before. I won’t lie. I thought the food was going to be a bit rubbish. But I was pleasantly surprised to find delicious food at a reasonable price. My daughter asked why we had never been there (we eat out a lot), and even begged to return. We definitely will! Even though we live in London, there are still so many places we haven’t visited. Lucky for us, we have more than 10 hours in which to visit London.

We were invited to experience Garfunkel’s and the London sites in return for this review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

  1. Looks like such a fun and exciting time in London! We usually make it down once or twice a year for a weekend, so I’ll keep some of these places in mind. 🙂

  2. Wow what a jammed packed day Elfa!!! I love playing tourist in London, there’s so much to see and do – we really are so lucky to live so near. Those pancakes sound amazing, we’ll have to test those out next time we’re in town. Great post! Linking up to #PointShoot x

  3. London is still a place that I need to overcome! I am so scared of it to think that I came from the capital from my country! This is a lovely post. Bookmarked it and maybe one day when its time to conquer London I will go back to this one to teach me where to go and what to do =) #pointshoot
