London In Springtime

London In Springtime

As I strolled over Waterloo bridge, a bridge I have walked across hundreds of time, I gave a deep sigh. I am always amazed by this view. It is beautiful on both sides, though the side with the London Eye and Big Ben is my favourite. London is so different than any of the cities in which I have lived. Even San Francisco, which is cosmopolitan and full of character, does not compare to the rich contrasts of London. Old and new side-by-side, divided by a 215 mile river and filled with several parks and a whole lotta people. What’s not to love?

  1. Great shot. There are so many lovely views along the South Bank. Always one of my favourite walks when we’re in London. Hopefully now the weather is warming up we will do some more in the coming months.

  2. I love London, so when my daughter turned down the opportunity to study abroad in London for the summer I was so disappointed! I had fully planned to be there as well–she ruined my summer! 🙂

  3. Oh yes, that mixture of old and new and that sense of connection to such a rich history is what makes London so special. I’m hoping to take the kids into the city more often now they’re a little bit older. X
