My August Hangouts

My August Hangouts

August has been a fun month, with lots of new adventures. I thought I would share some of the fab places we have visited in London and Surrey.

  1. My August HangoutsMayfield Lavender – a lovely organic lavender farm in Banstead. The farm opens at the end of May until mid-September. Go, take some pretty photos and pop into the cafe for a little treat. It is open from 9am-6pm, but if you go at the end of the day there seems to be less bees hanging around. They charge £1 for each adult, kids enter free. We went on an overcast weekday and it was quiet. I can imagine that a sunny weekend would be pretty packed.
  2. My August HangoutsThe Lawn at the Guorman Tower Hotel – one of the things I love about summer is being able to eat and drink in the sunshine. And actually, who cares if it’s drizzling a bit, especially when you have an amazing view. Last week I had cocktails and afternoon tea (in the evening) at The Lawn. The Guorman Hotel invited some bloggers for yummy cakes and refreshing Pimms and Mojitos. And did I mention the beautiful view of Tower Bridge? So much better than the average beer garden.

  1. My August HangoutsWimbledon Windmill – I am always astounded at the places I find in London. One of them is a windmill in Wimbledon Park. What started out as a mill for the local community, then became accommodation and is now a museum. The windmill is currently being fixed but will open again in mid-September. The museum is open on weekends and Bank Holiday Mondays from the end of March to the end of October (British Summer Time). Check out the Windmill Tearooms for yummy cake and ice cream (open most of the year).

Have you been to any new places this month? Maybe somewhere on my list above? Where have you been hanging out?
