I know it’s still autumn, but in the past week it has started feeling like winter. The temperatures have dropped and I’m living in knits and boots. I’ve had a few outings recently that I would like to look not-so-casual, and nice winter boots would be an asset. I can’t always wear trainers/sneakers or Gore-Tex boots. So I was thrilled when my parcel from JD Williams arrived.
The first item were these gorgeous suede ankle boots (first three photos). They are so soft and pretty, not to mention the fact that khaki is quite big for this autumn/winter season. Although you could wear these all year long. I love the cowboy style of these boots. They would look equally nice with jeans or a dress and tights. I’m wearing them with new favourite jeans, which are from Sainsburys. I’ve been really impressed with the style and prices for the clothing at Sainsburys (the skirt is below from there as well).
I only wear flat shoes these days, so I was a bit nervous about the 1 3/4 inch heel. I know that’s not a big heel, but my back cannot handle much before I am left in pain. It is so sad seeing other people wear their trendy heeled boots as it is tough finding cool boots with heels under two inches. These boots are really comfortable. I normally wear a size 6 or 6 1/2 and I got these in the size 6 which fit quite well.
If you’re a curvy gal, or just a lady with ample calves, you will know the struggle of knee-high boots. You get that zip halfway, and your calf denies access. Yes ladies, the struggle is real. You could get some slouchy boots, but it’s just not the same as sleek, leather knee-high boots. Well, I finally found a pair that fit my chunky calves. Hooray!
Heavenly Soles make knee-high boots that come in four widths. I got the super curvy, which are second widest fit. And they fit like a dream. As the boots only come in a wide fit, I have had to put insoles in mine, but that just means that they are even more comfortable. The boots look so smart and stylish. The buckles are so pretty. I’ll be wearing them with jeans and leggings quite a lot. But they also look nice with a skirt and sweatshirt. You know how obsessed I am with sweatshirts (the one below is from H&M and expresses my love of the weekend).
So, do you like my new boots? How have you been updating your winter wardobe? Have you been wowed by any winter boots? If you fancy a bargain, JD Williams will be offering huge deals on Black Friday (25th November 2016) so you should be able to get some fab items to revive your winter wardrobe.
I was allowed to choose some items from JD Williams for the purpose of this post. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
